Alex Taewoong Yoo is a Ph.D. student in Sport Management at the University of Florida, where he also earned his M.S. in Sport Management with a perfect GPA of 4.0. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. His professional background spans various roles in sport management and marketing, including positions at C&P Partners and FWS Asset Management in Seoul. Alex has also served in the Republic of Korea Army as a Sergeant in the 33 Military Police Presidential Security Service Branch. His leadership roles include being the Team Captain of the Yonsei Eagles American Football Team.
Alex’s research interests include sport marketing, sport consumer behavior, fan well-being, and applications of artificial intelligence in sports. His thesis focuses on the interplay of emotions, team affiliation, and packaging colors in shaping food desires among sport spectators, utilizing field experiments and AI-driven image analysis. Alex aims to contribute to the sport management field by exploring real-time sport spectators' food choices and their psychological and behavioral responses, leveraging advanced statistical and AI methodologies.
