FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions)
Is hypnotherapy effective?
YES! As with anything in life – what you put into it determines what you get out of it.
Countless studies will back the effectiveness of hypnotherapy. Cleveland Clinic, Mayo
Clinic, National Institutes of Health, American Medical Association, American
Psychological Association and many more reputable organizations support the
effectiveness of hypnotherapy.
How does hypnotherapy work?
By allowing yourself to relax deeply and focus your concentration, you are choosing to
quiet the conscious mind and allow greater access to the subconscious. The subconscious
accounts for 95% of our mind and not only runs everything in our body, but also runs our
automatic behaviors. It influences our perceptions and thus our thoughts and emotions
therefore driving our behaviors. Much like a computer, our subconscious mind runs based
on the current programming. If we want new results in life, the quickest way to achieve
those is to go right to the source– the programming in our subconscious mind and give it
an update with newer, healthier programming.
What can hypnotherapy help with?
Applications for hypnotherapy are incredibly vast! Anything involving your mind can be
assisted with hypnotherapy. Personal goals and self-development, transforming
unwanted behaviors, transforming unwanted mental and emotional patterns, calming
worries and concerns, creating calm before medical or dental procedures, and the list
goes on and on and on. Please reach out if you have any questions about something
specific and we can address your questions.
What is Medical Support Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis used with a therapeutic aim to assist medical or dental patients. This includes
overcoming anxiety related to medical or dental procedures, preparation for surgery,
pain control and even accelerated healing. Medical Support is used as an adjunct and
not intended to be a replacement for medical care.
Is hypnotherapy covered by Insurance?
Some insurance companies will cover hypnotherapy provided as a medical adjunct.
Often, a doctor provides a letter of medical necessity or writes a prescription for
hypnotherapy in order to ensure proper coverage from insurance. However, we do not
directly bill insurance. You would be responsible to seek reimbursement from your
insurance provider.
