We'll also discuss the frequency and number of sessions required needed to achieve those objectives.
Once goals are established, we initiate tailored treatment sessions at your preferred location. These sessions are grounded in evidence-based practices and are specifically designed to address your child's unique needs and goals identified during the assessment process. Our goal is to facilitate optimal progress and development for your child throughout the treatment journey. Hi there! I'm Ester Marcellin, a licensed occupational therapist registered in New York
State. My journey into occupational therapy began when I graduated from Long Island
University's Brooklyn campus in 2008. I am a certified Level 1, Advanced Mentored
Clinician by STAR Institute for Sensory Processing.
Initially, my career focused on treating adults in acute and sub-acute settings.
Witnessing my patients' progress towards their highest level of independence was
incredibly fulfilling, and I still cherish the connections I made during that time.
However, life took a beautiful turn when I became a parent myself. Guiding my own
children through their developmental milestones ignited a new passion within me. This
marked the beginning of my transition into the world of pediatric occupational therapy.
For almost nine years now, I've had the privilege of serving children from kindergarten
to eighth grade within a school setting. My dedication to helping these young learners
develop the skills they need for success while addressing their unique sensory needs in
school and home is unwavering.
Over time, I've noticed an increasing number of neurodivergent children on my caseload.
Recognizing the limitations of traditional spaces, I knew I had to innovate to fully
engage with all my kiddos. This realization led me to take a leap of faith and embark on
a new venture.

Planet Sensory OT operates as a private-pay practice and does not participate in health insurance plans. We offer individual treatment session packages. Superbills are available upon request on a monthly basis; however, reimbursement is not guaranteed. Prior to scheduling, we advise you to consult with your insurance provider to check whether they offer reimbursement for occupational therapy services.
